The worst kind of car accident is really one that you don’t see coming. That’s the kind of crash I had, and what sent me to a Plano chiropractor. I’ve been in accidents that I’ve seen coming – “Oh no, that guy’s not slowing down… Boom!”
This was me holding my hands at 10 and 2 (just like I’m supposed to) and then suddenly my car is facing the wrong direction, it’s smashed up, and I’m wondering what just happened. I’m wondering about my car, but I’m really closely evaluating my overall health status.
Is everything still connected? Is anything bleeding? Why does my neck feel like someone stepped on it? Will I end up missing time from work? Should I consider visiting a Mississauga chiropractor? How will I know?
I get online and start looking around to find the best chiropractor – that’s still reasonably close to me and that takes my insurance. I’ve heard that once the emergency room doctors give you the thumbs up that you’re not facing anything life-threatening (I wasn’t really worried about that) – you need to do some sort of therapy or chiropractic to fully recover.
I ended up going to a very traditional chiropractor. One that does all the “pops and cracks” but one that also uses some additional therapies to help relax the muscles and ease the inflammation. I was also looking for an excuse for work so that I could modify some of my daily work duties and not keep hurting.
It took a couple of weeks before I didn’t get that “twinge” feeling in my neck. After a couple more weeks I was really feeling like I did before the accident happened. Always tougher when you don’t see it coming – you don’t get a chance to brace or protect yourself.
I was glad that the Barrington IL chiropractor was able to help me get through it all and I’m back on the road. A little more cautious, a little wiser, and with a newly repaired car. You can’t even tell that anything happened!
